Are you folk musicians?
No. We are just musicians and performers. When doing our stuff individually we may sometimes sound folksy. In fact some of us may want to sound folksy. Some others most definitely do not want to. When a group of us get together we will go wherever the song, our collective abilities and the instruments we have to hand take us. Who needs a ‘label’!
So why do you call yourselves South London Folk?
Because South London is where Dick Philpot lives.
